  How to Build Big-Inch Ford Small Block.

 To simplify quoting various engine combination I now show parts and prices available for building from.

To figure out what a kit short block or complete engine might cost, get out your calculator and just add up the costs.

My most common build is a 545 (+030" bore 4 1/2 inch stroke using a forged steel crankshaft, 4340 I-beam rods which are as strong but lighter than H-beam, forged KB pistons Kaase P51 heads and a hydraulic roller camshaft with either an RPM or Victor manifold depending on max RPM requirements. This combination will make 570- 650 Hp and 670 Tq. A complete engine is approximately $11,5000

To make 700Hp will require more camshft duration than a hydraulic camshaft can deliever and will require a solid roller camshaft that require periodic adjustment and limited life lifters. Additionally you will need for a street motor the SCJ heads CNC ported.. The cost of such a motor is about $13,000

  #21-066 Ford 429-460 Main Cap Stud Support is designed to directly tie into the main caps. Our design doesn’t need bushings or spacers and doesn’t require the main caps to be machined to mount it. The end result is a girdle that offers more support, is easy to install, and will clear large strokers. This support is 5/8" thick and is laser cut out of steel with CNC machined mounting holes, includes all hardware.

  #20-966 Ford 429-460 Main Cap Stud Support Windage Tray.These Main Support Windage Trays bolt to the pre-drilled and tapped holes on our main cap stud supports. These trays keep the windage around the rotating assembly away from the oil in the sump and the oil in the sump away from the rotating assembly. Come with mounting bolts.
