This engine does have a mechanical fuel pump provision on the block, and it does have a fuel pump lobe on the camshaft.
This engine block has provisions for mechanical clutch "Z" bar linkage in both locations including the 65'-76' Big Block Corvette location.
850 CFM Mechanical Secondary carburator is reccomended.The BG Demon carb used on this engine has 85 primary jets,93 secondary jets,6.5 power valve,45 squirters primary, and 30cc accelerator pumps
This engine uses a Gen VII internally balanced Flexplate part # 12561217 & 6 bolts part # 3727207. If a manual transmission flywheel is needed, part # 12555135 & 6-839756 flywheel bolts must be used,Remember that unlike the 454 and 502 engines, this engine is internally balanced. Using the wrong flywheel/flexplate can destroy the engine due to a severe out of balance situation.
This engine comes with a large 6 quart oil pan with a large sump that will most likely not fit most chassis.The oil pan is 9 1/2" deep, and the length of the bottom of the sump portion is 12". If a different oil pan is needed to clear you particular chassis, please call Pace Performance, so that we can reccomend a specific pan.
Due to the single plane intake used on this engine, it is a relatively tall package in overall height.Measurement form the end rails of the block to the top of the carburator ( where the air cleaner sits is 9 1/2")
A tall deck rectangular port intake manifold, or a standard deck rectangular port intake manifold with end rail spacers and a slip collar distributor must be used with this engine.The Gm intake manifold part # 88961161 is a special tall deck intake that has integrated end rail spacers, and the distributor mounting pad is modified so that a standard chevy distributor fits.
Due to the tall valve covers on this engine, there may not be sufficient clearence for power brake boosters. The measurment from the bellhousing flange of the block to the tallest point of the valve covers is 10"
Any big block water pump can be used on this engine without problems.

GM's first purpose built drag race engine is filled with hard core race parts for hard core performance and long term durability. The newly redesigned rectangular port aluminum cylinder heads result in a race gas only 12:1 compression ratio. A solid roller cam with .714” lift actuates the stainless steel valves. And, of course, hardened chromemoly retainers, roller rocker arms, and dual valve springs are used to complete the valve train. The new GM tall deck single-plane intake manifold and a 1095cfm King Demon carburetor deliver enough air an dfuel to make 720 horsepower at 6250 RPM and 685 ft.lbs. of torque at 4500 RPM.
