This manifold is a result of over one year of development with extensive dyno testing. While it is difficult to improve on the original G.M. design we were able to show increases all the way up the rpm range with significantly more power down in the low and mid rpm ranges than competitive aftermarket manifolds for this engine. And yet we still matched or exceeded them on the top end. The LS1 version has an 85mm inlet (see our matching 85mm throttle body or use stock throttle body) while the LS2 version sports a humongous 96mm inlet bore. Use your stock 91mm throttle body or our matching 96mm model. Both the LS1 and LS2 manifolds come complete with fuel rails and necessary plumbing with fittings to match factory fuel lines. If your LS1 is an early version with a fuel return line, you can utilize our 10670 or 10671 fuel pressure regulator with this setup. The late returnless systems utilize a regulator in the fuel tank with the fuel pump. See the regulator section of this catalog. Some Mix & Match Information… Our LS1 Manifold will accept up to an 85mm throttle body. Our LS2 Manifold will accept up to our 96mm throttle body and could conceivably be enlarged for a larger size if anyone makes one. If you have an LS1 engine but want to run a throttle body larger than 85mm, you can use our #52064/52065 LS2 manifold and one of our LS2 96mm throttle bodies or the stock 91mm throttle body. Both our LS1 and LS2 manifolds come with a set of fuel rails. The reason you need to use this special version of the LS2 manifold is that the LS2 injectors are shorter and are a different diameter where they go into the manifold than the LS1 and have a different electrical connection than the LS1 which means you cannot use the LS2 injectors on an LS1 manifold or with an LS1 harness. The #52064/#52065 version of the LS2 manifold is machined to accept LS1 injectors so you can continue to utilize your stock wiring harness and injector connectors but gain the large 96MM inlet opening.

Examining ACCEL/DFI's LS1 7.0+ Engine Management System

$80 EACH The MSD Blaster Coil is a performance replacement coil for the popular Gen III GM small block. This engine, most notably the LS1 and LS6, is fast becoming a favorite performance engine. But, not just in Camaros, the new GTO and Corvettes - also in muscle cars and street rods.

The complex electronic controls of the original coils presented the aftermarket with a challenge as the drivers that control the firing of the coils are built into the OEM models. MSD engineers were able to design an advanced circuit that will operate with the factory electronics of the Gen III engine controls while producing a higher output spark. Not only do you get a higher voltage spark, but the coil will deliver multiple sparks! That's right - multiple spark discharge coils! Notice that the coil has two connectors molded into the custom housing.

One accepts the factory coil connector, the other is for an upcoming ignition controller. (This controller is still in the development stages but it will allow you to program functions of the ignition. We're planning a lot more for the Gen III fans!) The new coils mount in place of most factory LS1 and LS6 coils. (sdpc)

To some, putting a carburetor on a GM Gen III V-8 is a step back in progress, but to many enthusiasts that do not want to run high pressure fuel lines and miles of wiring, this is a giant step in the right direction!

GM Performance Parts and Edelbrock now offer cast aluminum intake manifolds that allow the installation of a carburetor on these advanced small blocks. But, without the EFI’s ECU, they needed a controller to fire the ignition and MSD stepped up to the plate.

 

LS Performer RPM LS1 (1500-6500 rpm)
 This powerful new manifold is designed for the popular Chevrolet LS1 (5.7L) small-block V8 originally used in 1997 and later Corvettes and 1998-02 Camaros and Firebirds. It also fits the Corvette LS6 engine and any other Gen III engine including the LM7 (5.3L), LR4 (4.8L), and LQ4 (6.0L). It allows the use of a carburetor on these originally computer-controlled engines, offering maximum power and a broad torque curve from 1500 to 6500 rpm. This manifold made 410 hp and 418 ft/lbs. of torque in dyno tests with our matching cam #2215 and Performer Series carb #1413. The Performer RPM LS1 includes a wiring harness and unique electronic Timing Control Module made by MSD® which works with OE sensors to fire the coil-on-plug ignition system and offers a choice of three timing curves. A special throttle and trans bracket that works with 700R-4 and Turbo 350 transmissions is included, making the LS1 engine an easy retro-fit into any muscle car, street rod or marine application.

These Edelbrock Performer LS1 intake manifold kits will allow you to bolt a carburetor onto your LS1 engine. They include a unique ignition control module that works with the OEM sensors to fire the distributorless ignition system, giving you a choice between six timing curves. These Comp Cams Pro Magnum hydraulic roller lifters are specifically designed to perform at higher engine speeds. When engines are equipped with a hydraulic roller camshaft, high rpm is limited by the improper position of the internal piston, as the lifter inevitably "pumps up". This improper location results in broken valves, and therefore leads to lost power or sometimes even engine failure. These lifters offer a distinct advantage over standard high-performance hydraulic lifters, especially in race applications where a hydraulic lifter must be used.

The Annihilator Distributorless Ignition System (DIS) is the latest in ignition technology that Holley is proud to offer. It's a true distributorless system featuring the latest and most advanced microprocessor-based capacitive discharge ignition technology. Common maladies that are experienced with distributor-based ignition systems such as spark scatter, cross fires, rotor deterioration, gas ionization are now a thing of the past. With Holley DIS, each cylinder is provided spark energy directly from the coil, which is driven by the most powerful and sophisticated controller available in the aftermarket today.

Annihilator DIS uses spark timing signals from a Hall Effect or magnetic crank trigger wheel (to provide the most accurate timing possible) and a reference signal (either Hall Effect or magnetic) from a cam trigger to identify the #1 cylinder power stroke. The individual cylinder timing capability of DIS can be used to maximize the performance and power of the total engine package. Although this alone makes DIS an outstanding system, many other "race features" are also included such as system-activated solid state switches, retards, multiple over-revs and timing control.

Annihilator DIS comes with a powerful ECU controller, either a 8-output or a 4-output DIS high-voltage module, complete wiring harness assembly, the very handy QuickShot programmer and Windows 95/98ª compatible computer software. The QuickShot allows real-time system adjustments to be made and saved, right from the driver's seat.

Annihilator DIS computer software enables the viewing of system settings on a computer screen for quick review and adjustment. The software allows the downloading, uploading, modifying and saving of ignition system information and settings. So, when running on different tracks you can either upload previous settings or modify the current settings saved in the system to accommodate different track and/or atmospheric conditions. System historical data can be stored, saved, accessed and changed in a most convenient way. This, in turn, will allow you to run much more consistently over time, under variable conditions.
