Brand New Mr Goodwrench 383 Stroker Engines

I take a New GM Built 260hp rated motor and change the crankshaft and pistons balance the assembly making a compression ratio to 9:1
Then I install a new performance camshaft, your choice of intake duration @ .050" :- 214, 224, 234
Next I clean up the ports and add a multiangle valve job. New valve springs are fitted to match the camshaft
The motor is then Re-assembled Base Price $3000
You may choose the Intake Manifold, Carburetor, Distributor & Accessories To Complete Your Engine...
A 350 and 383 might make the same HP but the 383 will make 30 more TQ Depends on the camshaft

Installing Vortec Heads on a TBI Engine
The topic of increasing the performance of the TBI engine often comes up . We would guess it comes up often with the people at GM Performance Parts as well, because they have introduced a special aluminum TBI intake manifold (PN 12496821) that adapts the TBI fuel-injection system to the Vortec heads. The manifold has a special water passage under the plenum to keep the fuel vaporized -- remember, the Vortec heads don't have a provision for an exhaust heat crossover passage. The drawback to installing the Vortec heads and the new manifold on the TBI engine is the need to plumb exhaust gas from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve. GM recommends using the '96 exhaust manifold (PN 12557828), EGR pipe (PN 10220275), and EGR valve (PN 17052693).
The Power+Plus PS (Performance Street) manifold is the ideal street manifold for street rods or engine swaps using the popular 1996 and later Vortec (L31) cast iron heads.
Manifold includes adapter to use a square bore carb.
Features dual distributor holddowns
Includes two pipe tapped rear water ports
Fits Vortec blocks or 1995 & earlier blocks w/Vortec heads
This manifold is based on our most popular manifold, the Performance Street #52000/52001.
It is designed to fit engine swaps using the 1996 and later Vortec (Gen 1+) cast iron heads or the Edelbrock E-Tec aluminum heads.
These cylinder heads are very popular in street rods, engine swaps, or the industrial market.
This manifold can be used on any Chevy V-8 engine utilizing the late Vortec head.
This manifold has provision for external water bypass.
It also features four corner water outlets, dual distributor holddowns, includes a square bore carb adapter and gasket, and will work with a late model style water neck, alternator, HEI and air conditioning brackets.
$230 Edelbrock 7516
Edelbrock's Performer RPM Air-Gap intake manifolds incorporate race-winning technology that's been used on Victor series competition intakes for years. The open air space from the Air-Gap design separates the runners from the heat of the lifter-valley cover. So the air/fuel mixture stays cooler all the way to the heads, which produces a denser charge for more power. Runners are tuned to move the power band 1,000 rpm higher than Performer Air-Gap manifolds, from idle-5,500 rpm up to 1,500-6,500 rpm.
$270 12366573 - Vortec Dual Plane Intake Manifold

This dual-plane was designed for 283-400 ci small-block Chevrolet enginesusing the new vortec cylinder heads P/N 12464298 or 12558060. This high rise manifold was designed for maximum horsepower and a broad torque curve to give you great performance. This manifold accepts square bore carburetor and includes extremally plumbed hot water crossover passage. Vortec heads were releasedon 1996 RPO L31 truck engines. This manifold only has four bolts attaching it to the cylinder head instead of six like all earlier models. Check for proper to carburetor clearance especially on corvettes. Use manifold gasket P/N 12529094 and attchment bolts P/N 24504713.
$290 12496820 - Low-Rise Vortec Intake Manifold With EGR

This Vortec manifold was designed for ultimate horsepower and torque to be used with Vortec cylinder head P/N 12529093 12558060 12497186 or 12464298. This aluminum four-barrel manifold will accept Holley or Quadrejet carburetors
$340 12496822 - Eliminator Single Plane Vortec Manifold

The eliminator Vortec aluminum manifold was designed for ultimate horsepower and torque to be used with Vortec cylinder head P/N 12529093 12558060 12497186 or 12464298. Use intake manifold gasket P/N 12529094 and special manifold bolts P/N 1
These brand new engines are dismantled, lightly honed with a torque plate.
The rings are upgraded to low drag Plasma-Moly.
The pistons are replaced with Speed-Pro 383 Hypereutectic Pistons either flat top H600CP (76cc = 9.3:1) or dished H602CP(76cc = 8.7:1) for lower compression.
The 5.70" GM rods are reused.
The crank is replaced with a new aftermarket high nodular iron 383 crankshaft.
The rotating assembly is balanced (heavy metal being added to the one piece rear seal crankshafts used in the later model engines)
The engine is then reassembled with a harmonic balancer and flexplate (a flywheel option is available at addition expense).
The camshaft change is available in a variety durations to fit your application.
The TSEC warranty is available for purchase.
THIS HIGH SWIRL HEAD CYLINDER HEAD IS NOT A PERFORMANCE ORIENTED CYLINDER HEAD. IT IS INTENDED FOR GOOD BOTTOM END TORQUE AND FUEL ECONOMY. THE INTAKE RUNNER IS RESTRICTIVE BECAUSE IT HAS A RAMP CAST INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE BOWL TO PROMOTE HIGH SWIRL.
Expect 383 Vortec to make about 40 peek bhp more than the first motor above, and about 10ft.lbs more torque.
