Why are Pure Power® Filters better?
Conventional paper element filter do not allow all of the oil entering the filter to past through
the paper element. They can not, there is not enough time and the gap between the paper molecules are not wide enough for oil molecules to past through quickly.

 

Over the years even more dense paper element filter have been tried, but result in stripping
the oil of many of the additives bonded within the oil, further breaking down the oil and making it ineffective in protecting your engine from normal wear, and can result in serve damage.

All conventional filters utilize a bypass valve. This valve is open continually during operation as the internal pressure is unequal due the slow movement of oil through the paper filter.
The bypass valve prevents the increase pressure, as the oil flow backs up from expanding the filter and either blowing out the seal or exploding the casing.

Pure Power®filters uses a deep pleated duplex woven 45 micron T304 stainless steel screen to remove 10 micron and even smaller particles from the engine oil. This type of filtration is substantially more effective than paper inferior filters. I have personally open up motors that have made metal from relatively minor malfunction, only to find huge metal particles imbedded in the bearings destroying the crankshaft journals, spread all over the piston skirts, in the cylinder cross hatch, around the piston writ pins, and inside the lifters, ultimately destroying the engine. I believe many engines could have been saved from metal recirculation damage by simple trapping it in the filter as is the intended purpose of a filter.

The reason both small and large particle escape the filter is because the relief valve is wide open. Oil And Filter Life Cycles.

When using conventional filters with low grade oil, change the oil and filter every 3000 miles.

Pure Power®  filters with conventional low grade oil, change every 3000 miles.
Change the oil and inspect then clean the filter after the first 1000 miles
of installing the filter.
This is done because the filter will remove any debris that has been in the motor
for a long time. Then check the filter again after a second 1000 miles.
If the filter is clean, change the oil again after a further 2000 miles.

While you will still need to continue to change the oil every 3000 miles due to the
rapid break down of low quality oil, but the oil it self will be kept clean,
protecting the engine from damage and extending service life.

Conventional filter, Pure Power®oil, change the oil every 7500 miles.
It is recommended that you examine the filter after the first 3000 miles.
If it is relatively clean, changing it at the 7500 mile mark is acceptable.
Keep in mind that conventional filters only clean a small percentage of
the oil on each cycle through the filter. Pure Power®  oil is so superior
to conventional oil that it provides greater protection even under
contaminated conditions. Most contaminates come from the combustion
process escaping pass the rings, diluting the oil. this dilution has less impact
on Pure Power®oil.

Pure Power® filter and Pure Power®oil, change the oil every 12,000 miles.

Change the oil every 12,000 miles.
It is recommended that you remove filter at 4000 to 6000 miles.
Pour out the oil and discard. Unscrew the canister and remove the screen.
While a solvent cleaner will be useful, simply pour water through the filter, inside to out, then washing in hot soapy water will remove all the suspended dirt that the combination of the Pure Power  oil and filter have removed. Finally dry the screen with compressed air or allow to air dry.
Replace screen in canister, screw canister halves back together, and return to engine or remote mount.

After this first cleaning, clean at 12,000 mile intervals and change with fresh Pure Power  oil.
It is recommend you keep an extra quart of Pu oil and check your oil level periodically incase your engine burns oil. Do not allow the oil level to become critic.
Having the extra quart will allow you to replace the oil you removed on the first preventive cleaning.

 

How much is this going to cost?
First keep in mind that using a high quality oil and keeping it clean will extend the useful life of your engine. Second test have shown fuel consumption reduction due to the increased lubricating properties of Pure Power®oil. This  improved lubrication properties also lead to increased power output and reduced internal engine noise. All these benefit result from less frictional horsepower consumption.
Many race car and boats operators use Pure Power®oil simply for these benefits alone. But don't expect to see a large Pure Power®logo on the site of the car. They buy the oil same as you and me, because it is a superior product with beneficial properties, not because they are paid to.

But setting all that a site, the combination of a Pure Power®filter and oil will reduce your oil consumption costs. Let's compare.

A typical V8 engines needs 5 quarts. Let's assume you pay $2.00 a quart.
A paper filter may cost anywhere from $3.50 to $7.00, let's say your cost is $5.00
So each oil change product cost will be $5.00 + (5 X $2.00) = $15.00
If you do 12,000 miles per year, changing 4 times per year, the annual cost will be $60.00

In 5 years your cost is $300, 7 years $420 and 10 years $600
If you have your oil and filter professionally changed figure in the extra labor cost.
