Tammy was born in California and spent most of her working career as a Medical assistant. More recently she has become a private music and piano teacher.

John and Tammy meet at church and became married in 1988 and continued to live in Orange County California until 1999 when they moved to Apple Valley Ca.

John came from New Zealand to live in the USA at age 20 in 1981. He as spent the last 25 years as an automotive machinist and engine builder.
In 2001 John start doing business as Stroker Engine, providing custom built V8 hot rod engines to clients around the world.

I work long hours, risk everything, dealing with all kinds of supply issues, but I do not make enough money to really make it all worth while.

In a "good business your product mark up should be 50-100%, my mark up is 5% to 15% depending on the component, it is just no enough.

Once I take an engine order, I either do all the construction labor myself or "sub" it out, but I then must inspect the work I have paid others to do for me.
Then I test run the engine to make sure they are ok. If there are any problems with a motor I pay to make it right.
In 6 years of being in a business based on what I love and am good at, I have found I would have been better off, if I had just stayed working for a boss.

Seriously, the time I've put in, the risk I have assumed for the amount of money I have made, has just not been worth it.
