Below I written a bunch of stuff, but this is what a warranty really means bottom line.
1/ If I made a mistake in the construction of the engine I'll make it right at my expense, not including the cost of engine removal and replacement or transportant cost back to me, however in reviewing other engine builder companies warranties I offer a maximum labor coverage of $400. I do not pay frieght cost, but I will subsize the cost, you will only pay a total of $400 for freight in both diresctions.
If you drop the motor of and retrieve it, I will add the $400 to the $400 for labor.
2/ If a part breaks because of being faulty I will replace it and cover the cost of any engine damage it may have caused, but I do the labor.
I DO NOT PAY LABOR FOR SOME ONE ELSE REBUILDING THE MOTOR UNLESS I AGREE TO DO SO AFTER CONSULTATION.
There is no warranty on less than a complete engine, rather a guarantee.
A guarantee means the parts are the correct ones, the machining is correctly done and the clearances are within spec.
If you buy a short or long block and finish it yourself and it smokes, starts knock or explodes you are responsible.
The Engine Builder is always the fall guy. But call me I'll try to help.
Manufactures only ever replace parts, they seldom compensate for collateral damage.
I warranty the motor when I build it and start it up.
If I sell you a motor that I did not start, you can buy a warranty for 6 months for $200, which is $100 less than the $300 start up fee with a 1 year warranty.
From my point of view, there is too much risk that the person completing the construction of an engine from a less than complete will do something wrong and try to blame me.
I'd rather walk away from the sell, the profit to risk margin is not worth it.
If I build a long block, add the remainder of your parts, and start it up, either on the ground or in the car, the 1 year warranty applies, basic covering mistakes, and faulty parts.
The warranty does not cover minor oil seal leaks, oil consumption or parts breaking because of abuse, such as drag racing, power adders, poor mantienance, or over revving.
Unless a mistake was made, neither of these two things can be fix.
Align bored block - New crankshaft - New Quality seal
LEAK - What can be fix?
Diamond honed using a torqueplate - Plasma-moly rings - Bore scrubbed clean - Correct ring end gap
BURNS OIL - How can it be fixed?
That having been said, if either of these problems show up, I'll do what I can.
If you were to buy a high performance engine from a local machine shop, you would find that they most likely they will tell you that increasing the performance with "hot rod" parts voids their warranty.
I realize that having a warranty is important to protect you from "sloppy" workmanship.
Our goal, yours and mine is to not have to ever deal with a warranty.
Stroker Engine makes every effort to provide a quality product, being careful in machining, parts selection and construction labor.
Because of the many details and parts that go into an engine there is always a slight risk of a parts failure or some human error.
Further more increasing engine power output comes with RISK. Even with a warranty, breaking something will cost you time money. The warranty below has limited coverage, read it carefully.
Increasing the stroke in any engine changes the rod or piston length requirements.
These changes may increase thrust loads against the cylinder wall and piston skirt accelerating wear. This is wear and tear and is outside the warranty coverage.
Some long stroke combination requires a piston with a short compression height dimension (distant from wrist pin centerline to top of piston) as a result the ring seal may prove less than ideal.
The result may be greater oil consumption compared to a stock engine. This maybe the price you pay for the extra power. The most effective protection from mileage is clean oil.
To protect you we provide a SIX MONTH & TWELVE MONTH limited warranty options, rather than selling you an "as is racing engine" without a guarantee of quality.
Free 30 Day Error Free Construction Guarantee.
This Guarantee assured that all machined surfaces are correct, being Straight and within Specification Tolerance, and the engine was Correctly Assembled.
This is a guarantee, not an engine warranty, it will not cover an engine failure once the engine is started.
Should you see or measure an error and inform TSEC we will work with you to correct the error.
Before construction begins on your engine we will discuss together our estimated power output projections. After explaining what can be expected from various parts combinations, YOU will make the final decision as to what principle parts are to be used in your engine (heads, cam, intake manifold).
Whatever power it makes in you vehicle, is what it is.
We have found that the right carburetor is very important, and adjusting the ignition advance cure can make a big difference. The Tune-Up is Critical!!!
Stroker Engine endeavors to achieve the desired BHP output, however each engine is unique. If we are chasing maximum power we can not say we will achieve a specific number, but rather make at least Xbhp. If you are wanting an engine of say 500bhp from a Chevy 383, we can confidently provide it. If we dyno the engine and it comes up more than 5% (25bhp) short, we will work on the engine to find the missing power.
Stroker Engine does not guarantee your engine will pass smog emissions tests. If you must pass a smog test, we will work with you to make sure the engine runs clean enough to pass the test, but Stroker Engine does not accept responsibility for your use of the engine. This engines are intended for high performance use, best suited for making power. You are 100% responsible for how you use your engine.
The greatest risk of an internal problem in the engine is within the first 90 days.
As time goes on the risk gradually declines until about 50,000 miles when wear and tear from use gradually increase the potential for malfunction.
The quality of oil is much less than generally believed by the public.
Changing you oil every 3000 miles is consider a minimum.
Many Auto Manufactures are advising changing the oil and filter every 2000
to ensure they their engine last through the Factory 10 year 100,000 Warranty.
I recommend using quality oil or adding an additive to improve the oil. Heavier weight oils don't hurt an engine and are a little safer than lighter oils. 20W50 works well.

Oil quality varies. $6 oil is much better than $2 oil.
Synthetic oil has proven it's self, however studies I have review indicate that
a premium petroleum oil is still superior. Pure Power is the BEST !
Even more critical is filter effectiveness. Most paper filters bypass a large percentage
of the oil flowing throw them. Think about it. Do you think you can blow air through
the paper element? Oil will pass through it, but at very slow a rate.
A paper filter without a bypass valve will explode.
I do offer an advance oil filter system utilizing stainless steel micro mesh screens.
This cleanable, reusable filter will keep your oil much cleaner allowing you to travel further
between oil changes. Typically every 12,000 miles.
The problem that can occur with a new or rebuild engine is a failure of the rings to seat resulting in oil consumption. Stroker Engine hones ALL BLOCKS with a Torque Plate to ensure that the cylinders are perfect round, honing out enough material to completely remove any boring tool marks. The cylinder is then finished to provide the proper plateau surface finish, suitable for both plasma/moly and cast iron rings.
The cylinder is then scrubbed clean.
I have been informed by professional ring manufacturing technicians that 90% of ring failures are a result of poor surface finish, or dirty cylinders, I do my very best to make sure I am not going to cause this type of problem.
The use of short skirt piston in some stroker applications may lead to some increased oil consumption.
It is Very Important that you break the engine in correctly.
The two critical components needing proper "break in" are the cam & lifters
and the cylinder wall & rings.
BREAK IN:
The cam needs to be run at 2000RPM or more for about 30 minutes to ensure enough oil is being "thrown around" to lubricate the cam lobes and lifters.
The rings like to be loaded and unloaded.
Drive the vehicle down the road accelerating and decelerating 6 times or so.
Don't be afraid of full throttle, but don't rev the engine pass 5000rpm for the first hundred miles. Then drive normally. While it may not really make any difference, I don't recommend hard racing
until at less 500 miles. Change the oil within between 20 and 100 miles. Get all that break in debris out.
Then change every 30000 miles. If you purchased a Pure Power Oil Filter System and Oil, change the oil and wash the Filter every 12,000 miles. See other quality oil manufacturer's recommendations.
(i.e.. Royal Purple)
I recommend using the Pure Power Filter on the new motor, but I recommend using cheap straight 30 weight oil to break in the engine. Then drain the oil at 100 miles and check the filter. You can use cheap oil again and change it at 1000 miles. Then add the Pure Power oil and go 12,000 miles.
The way a compression ring works is as follows.
The downward pressure from the expanding gas after ignition forces the ring down.
The gas then travels across the top of the ring and moves behind the ring.
The gas has then nowhere to go due to zero clearance beneath the ring.
As a result the pressure pushes the ring outward against the cylinder wall, sealing the cylinder.
Ring tension has very little to do with this process.
"Blipping" the throttle causes the ring to expand the relax against the cylinder wall.
This aids break in. Failure to do this will not result in a failed break in, it only enhances it.
Preferably it is better to drive the car/truck down the road in a medium gear and "floor" the throttle, then release it about about 3000/3500RPM.
If for some reason the rings have not sealed in the first 1000 miles call me.
Sometimes other unexpected problems occur. CALL ME.
If something has gone wrong the warranty might cover it.
70% of all engine warranty claim are made within the first 1000 miles.
If there is an error, or weak component, it usually shows up very quickly.
Buying a dyno tuned engine will be your best protection from grief.
The warranty does not cover damage you have cause by your Abusing the engine.
If you overheat the engine due to an insufficient cooling system, or blowing off a hose,
YOU will be responsible for the damage caused.
I will be willing to help you out as best I can, I may even throw in some free labor.
The same holds true if you Over-rev the engine, run it too lean, or kill it with nitrous oxide.
I'll help you out, but we will have design and built the engine to operate within certain
parameters, running outside of them my result in damage.
TSEC will not pay out any money to you to cover other people's labor unless approved.
If you think you maybe making a warranty claim
Call me before pulling the motor
I may want you to run some simple test first.
High performance engines are at higher risk of breaking something, but with today's
stronger aftermarket parts you should not have any problems.
However, if you do, I will do all I can to be there for you.
My goal is to provide you with the best possible deal.
I believe conducting business in this way, will in turn provide me with the successful business
and reputation I am wanting to build.

Stroker Engine LIMITED WARRANTY
Effective on Motor Purchased After 01/01/2010
Component Failure: Should a part be found out of specification, or should a part fail under normal operating conditions, Stroker Engine will replace the component and repair any collateral damage. Should believe that a part fail due to being over stressed, such as excessive RPM or Power Adder use such as Superchargers or Turbochargers will void the warranty, unless supplied by Stroker Engine and Dyno Tested. Nitrous Oxide and Nitromethane Injection voids warranty no matter where you buy it.
Quality: All components including the block supplied by Stroker Engine are cover under this warranty to be free of defects and cracks and all clearances and machined surfaces are within acceptable tolerances. Furthermore the workmanship will be of the highest standard, with careful attention to detail, and proper lubrication.
Eligibility: This warranty begins on the date Stroker Engine assigns (ask for details), and only applies to the name given to The Stroker Engine Company as the owner, and is on file with the engine order. Warranty does not transfer to a new owner.
Coverage: Stroker Engine holds it's self accountable under this warranty to repair an engine should it fail as a result of poor workmanship, including incorrect machine work, are a faulty parts. At the discretion of TSEC we will choose, to repair or replace damaged parts. (Exclusions do apply, see below)
Racing: Stroker Engine wants to provide the best quality high performance engines, but a failure of an engine while racing can be very difficult to prove fault. Therefore engines failing during a speed competition whether on a sanctioned track of public highway will void this warranty. Should an error in workmanship be discovered before the engine is place in service for racing a warranty claim maybe made. Racing engines are at high risk, and every effort should be made by the owner to double check an engine before racing.
Power Adders: Superchargers, Turbochargers, Nitrous Oxide, Nitromethane, and other such means of increasing power output may cause an engine failure due to excessive use, incorrect calibration or adjustment, malfunction, incorrect compression ratio, or fuel octane rating, misuse, or over revving. As such the use of such devices voids the warranty unless special arrangements have be made with Stroker Engine.
Pinging: Excessive compression pressure will cause detonation or pre-ignition, both are described as pinging. Pinging can pound out the bearings, break rings, crack piston ring lands, or knock a hole through the piston.
Detonation occurs after top dead center(TDC) and results from the burning air/fuel mixture exploding as a result of too much pressure and heat for the fuel's octane rating.
Pre-ignition occurs before TDC. Similar to donation, but occurs before the spark plug fires.
The following compression ratios are generally considered it safe in most application.
9.2:1 with iron head, 10.0:1 with aluminum.
You can run more compression with higher octane fuel, longer duration camshafts, electronic fuel injection, light weight cars, less initial ignition timing, lower rear end ratios, higher stall torque converters, and cool weather.
Too low a compression ratio can will reduce power output and throttle response.
Select the compression ratio very carefully.
Stroker Engine Does Not Guaranty an engine against pinging.
If it does immediately contact Stroker Engine for assistance in preventing pining.
Any damage resulting from pinging is NOT COVER under the warranty.
Stroker Engine Does Not Warranty any engine against MINOR fluid leaks.
We make every effort to seal the engine during construction. Should oil leak from a properly install oil seal little can be done to resolve it, this is very rear. Oil leaking as a result of incorrect fitting of a gasket, oil seal or sealant maybe covered.
Should a leak be found contact Stroker Engine for assistance is resolving the problem.
Power Output: Stroker Engine makes every effort to provide the most possible power output from any engine we build, however due to the many variables in parts selection and modification options, (carb, compression, cam, heads, headers, etc) final power output can vary widely.
Stroker Engine does not guarantee a final horsepower or torque figure unless we dyno tune the engine.
Then we will guarantee the estimated and advertised Brake Horsepower to be within 8%
E.g.. Advertised 430BHP minimum 396BHP. Expect a 20% power loss to the rear wheels 317RWHP.
All Brake horsepower figures will be for an engine tested in California using the SAE rating at the flywheel with headers and no mufflers or accessories.
Breaking in: Stroker Engine Does Not guarantee that a flat tappet camshaft and lifters will break in properly. It is the owner's responsibility to start up the engine and running it correctly to break in the cam and lifters. If the cam is not broken in correctly, it will make metal resulting in further problems, which will not be covered under the warranty. Some engines may require a change of valve spring before and or after the break in procedure.
Be sure you understand how to break in the engine.
Stroker Engine strongly advises and encourages the use of ZINC oil additives be use during the break in procedure.
On an engine Stroker Engine starts to break in the camshaft, should it fail, we will repair the damage. If the engine is started by anyone else, the camshaft break in is not guaranteed, warranted, or damage compensated for by Stroker Engine.
Roller Lifter Camshaft do not face the same risk of failure.
Application: Should a malfunction occur, it must be reported to Stroker Engine. No attempt shall be made to repair the malfunction before contacting Stroker Engine as this will void the warranty covering that fault. However shall a repair be made, it will not void the warranty covering the rest of the engine, should another fault occur that is unrelated to the pervious fault and or repair. (This is a premium warranty benefit)
Claim: Notifiy Stroker Engine of a warranty claim as soon as possible to avoid experation of the warranty. Stroker Engine will advise the engine owner on file as to how the claim will be settled. Options might include returning part or all of the engine to Stroker Engine. Sending a Stroker Engine representative to assess and repair the engine. Authorization and payment of the repair by the owner, or local repair facility. Do not attempt to repair the engine without notifing Stroker Engine. To do so VOIDS the warranty.
Claim Procedure: In the event of a failure, problem, or concern, contact Stroker Engine. Phone 760-247-0690 or 760-508-4562(cell). DO NOT RELY ON EMAIL CONTACT.
This warranty does not cover removal or installation cost, nor does it pay for shipping to Stroker Engine, however Stroker Engine will compensate such cost with a flat $400 reimbursement for labor and only charge $400 for two way shipping. This $400 does not pay air frieght, only domestic ground and international ocean.
Stroker Engine will only repair engine damage and add required replacement parts.
Engines will not be replaced.
However, options are available upon request.
Original purchase documentation must be provide with a warranty claim.
Maintenance documents maybe requested to substantiate a claim.
This warranty is valid in the USA and Canada only but every effort is extended to international shippent orders. Call to see what can be worked out if a problem arises.
Failure to receive authorization prior to any repair work will void this warranty.
Exclusions: Normal wear and tear is to be expected and not covered.
Failure to perform routine maintenance, such as oil and filter changes, and tunes. Solid lifter camshaft tappet clearance must be periodically check.
Solid roller lifter have proven less than totally reliable in high mileage applications and may require replacement in as short as 40,000 miles. Stroker Engine uses Only Pressure Feed Oil Solid Roller Lifters.
If the engine should fail due to over revving, overheating, freezing, pre-ignition, detonation, poor quality gasoline, or lubricates, accident damage, abuse, excessive or abnormal loading, improper installation or operation, or break, or if any parts have be modified the warranty coverage will not apply.
Installation and use of blowers, turbos, or nitrous oxide MAY void the warranty.
Any type of a failure during racing MAY be void the warranty.
Be sure to ask when ordering a motor about the coverage of the use Power Adder devises not supplied by Stroker Engine and or about racing use.
Front and Rear Oil Seal Leaks Can Not Be Fix unless a mistake was made, eg. wrong seal or put in backwards, in such cases the warranty applies.
Minor Oil Consumption Is Not Repairable. Major Oil Consumption can only occur as a result of error and is therefore covered by the warranty. If your carburetor or fuel injector "weeps" gasoline into a need engine, it can lead to ring seal malfuction and oil consumption.
Warranty is void upon sale to another party of the engine.
Warranty does not cover engines used for marine use, commercial use in heavy trucks, in buses, or motor homes or while racing.
These application maybe warranty with a special extended warranty.
Failures resulting from collision, misuse, road conditions, negligence, alterations, modifications, fires, floods, riots, vandalism, theft, or acts of God are not covered.
If you blow a head gaskets, crack the block or heads, after 30 days of engine operation, no warranty applies. A mistake results in these things occurring almost immediately. If these two failures occur as a result from overheating or too low an octane fuel being used, no warranty applies.
Complete engines that have not been pre-started are primed with oil is then drain out to meet shipping contractor regulations.
All engines must have oil added, and is is strongly recommended that you re-primed the engine to protect your investment. Cranking the engine over with the spark plugs out is an acceptable method of priming.
Failure to do so, especally if the engine has sat for a long time and then a failure occurring as a result will void your engine.
Protect your engine and protect yourself, protect Stroker Engine PRIME THE OIL SYSTEM.
Less than complete engines, i.e.. short or long blocks come without a warranty instead are covered by the Free 30 Day Error Free Construction Guarantee
Legal dispute: Any interpretation of or dispute addressing the subject matter of this warranty agreement will be decided exclusively in the county of San Bernardino, State of California and the customer/client/owner waives any challenges to such form or venue.
